Directions: |
Shuffle the cards and place them
facedown on the playing surface.
Players take turns. At each turn:
- Roll the die. Look up the
target range of the product in the table.
- Take 4 cards from the top of the
deck.
- Use the cards to try to form 2
numbers whose product falls within the target range. Do not
use a calculator. You need not use all 4 cards. A
number may not begin with 0.
- Multiply the 2 numbers on your
calculator to determine whether the product falls within the
target range. If it does, you have hit the bull's-eye and
score 1 point. If it doesn't, you score 0 points.
The game ends when each player has had 5
turns. The player who has scored the most points wins the game.

Turn: |
A player:
- Rolls a 3. The target range of
the product is between 1001 and 3000.
- Turns over a 5, 7, 2, and 9.
- Uses estimation to try to form 2
numbers whose product falls within the range--for example, 97 and
25.
- Finds the product on the
calculator: 97 * 25 = 2425.
Since the product is between 1001 and
3000, the player has hit the bull's-eye and scores 1 point.
Other possible winning products (from the 5, 7, 2, and 9 cards):
79 * 25; 279 * 5; and 57 * 29.
